Okay really she was three last year but just getting around to blogging this cutie girl! We have done her one year, 2 year and now three on this chair and we plan to keep doing until she gets married!
…And she is a beautiful 14 year old girl! What a whirlwind of a week! We really never saw this coming and I am sure last November I even said to some of you “oh no, we are not adopting.” I know better to say something like that so final when God may have such bigger plans! I promise not to blow up my blog with updates, if you want to follow our story and updates you can follow us HERE. We are doing some fun door prize drawings along the way as a way to raise funds to adopt. International adoption can be very expensive but we are trusting God to continue to provide as He always has…we have so many of you to be thankful to! We just had our first drawing…2 actually, one for a $1000 gift certificate and one for an 11×14 print.
Watch this sweet video of her happy little heart!
UPDATE! PROCEEDS WILL NOW BE USED TO MOVE FORWARD IN ADOPTING KRISTINA! AND THE FUN PART IS YOUR WILL GET 5 TICKETS IN THE DRAWINGS WE ARE DOING FOR DONATIONS! WE STILL HAVE SOME AFTERNOON SLOTS AVAILABLE!
We had a chance this past month to “share some love” with a sweet girl from the Ukraine. We went into this experience thinking we would host an orphan from the Ukraine and give her a fun, family Christmas and a chance to just be loved on by a family. Little did I know that we would fall in love with this girl. It was heart breaking to send her back halfway across the world. We feel somewhat like in a whirlwind of emotion and confusion. I wouldn’t say that adoption was never an option but in my mind it was always a young child. We feel caught of guard by God a little … like it was just sprung on us so quick. But I was reminded this morning how God is paving our paths long before we even know it….
Kristina was recommended to us by a friend of a friend who was a mom of one of Caden’s friends from when he was at Liberty Christian(4 years ago.) We were more “online” friends at this point. Had never really had a conversation when I got the facebook message saying that God had put me on her heart. Caden only went to Liberty Christian for one year and while we heard for certain he belonged there in 4th grade, we heard for certain it was time to leave after one year. We have always been slightly confused as to what the point of that year was. This morning I felt God connect some dots…If we had never been at Liberty we would have never met Kristina. So while We are confused and in prayer of what our next steps are, we do know GOD IS IN CONTROL and that He is NEVER caught of guard. We appreciate your prayers.
To help off set the financial part that comes with bringing her over we are going to offer some VALENTINE MINI SESSIONS. This is such a fun shoot and a great deal and all the proceeds will go to the cost of hosting her this Summer. I know this looks rather girly, for boys we will go more simple and I can give you plenty of ideas to make it fun for them! To book please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are a couple pictures I took at the beach this Christmas…
